HEAD COACH

A native of Mexico City, Mexico, Hector was the captain of the Hobart and William Smith Sailing Team in 2019-20. He is a four-time Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association All-American Skipper who competed in 60 regattas during his college career, including seven national championships.

We are thrilled to welcome Will Howard to the Chicago Yacht Club staff this fall. Will comes to us from Lake Forest, bringing a wealth of experience and a passion for sailing. With a strong background in competitive sailing and coaching, he is dedicated to helping our team reach new heights.

ASSISTANT COACH

Bridget Groble is an SICP ‘17 alum. She competed on the Varsity team 3 of her 4 years at Ignatius and qualified the team for High School Nationals in 2017. She helped the team to several victories, including 4th at High School Girls Nationals in 2016 and two Illinois State Championships. Groble went on to sail at Old Dominion University and helped the team to a pair of 9th place Nationals finishes. Now, Groble continues to sail competitively and coach the Wolfpack.
